Chief Minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma today laid the foundation stone for the construction of an RCC Bridge over the Dhansiri River along the Udalguri-Bhairabkunda Road in the Udalguri district.

The 320-metre-long bridge is to be built at a total cost of ₹33.42 crores and is expected to complete within 30 months under the NERSDS project which is expected to fulfil the hopes and aspirations of the citizens in the area.

Notably, the bridge was a long-standing demand of the people of Udalguri district is set to be fulfilled, especially for building good road communication among the locality.

CM Sarma said that the state government and Bodoland Territorial Region government jointly working dedicatedly towards the welfare and development of the common masses since its inception. He said that today citizens of the greater Udalguri district are getting a new ray of hope for bringing healthy road communication to the area.

He said that the BTR government and state government is committed to working for the welfare and uplift of the society with an integrated environment.

BTR CEM Pramod Boro said that the bridge construction on the Dhansiri river along the Udalguri-Bhairabkunda Road was a long-standing demand of the local peoples, and accordingly today chief minister Dr Sarma laid the foundation stone. He said that the BTR government and state government is jointly emphasizing deeply towards the uplift and development of the region.

Guardian minister Ashok Singhal, BTR deputy CEM, and Gobinda Chandra Basumatary were present at the event.
