A Special Court in Kokrajhar on Tuesday convicted and sentenced a rape accused to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a Rs 10,000 fine for the rape of a 10 years old minor girl in 2019.
The Special Court in Special Case no 48/19 awarded the accused Shanidul Islam 20 years of Rigorous Imprisonment and a Rs 10,000 fine.
The Special judge J Koch pronounced the accused Shanidul Islam guilty of raping a 10 years old girl in connection with Gossaigaon P.S Case No. 289/19 u/s 376(A) B IPC r/w Sec 4 of POCSO Act.
Special public prosecutor Manjit Kumar Ghose said the accused, in his mid-20s, raped the 10 years old when she had gone to bring a goat from a nearby field on 7 July 2019.
