Cotton University Students’ Stages Protest Against Uniforms

The Cotton University students staged a protest on Monday against the university’s plan to introduce uniforms.

The university decision of introducing uniform for the students studying in higher secondary courses from the next academic session to be started from August 1, 2019 has been strictly condemned by the students.

A university student said that the administration should focus on other problems like shortage of teachers and filling up of vacancies in the university rather than to introduce uniforms. The student further said that one of the unique features of the university is that students belonging to different communities showcase their cultural diversity through their clothes.

The students of the university strongly opposed the administration’s decision of introducing uniforms for the students. They also submitted a memorandum to the Vice-Chancellor regarding the same.
