Crocodile Attack Claims 12-Year-Old’s Life in Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich as Family Looks On in Horror

Guwahati, July 17: A 12-year-old boy lost his life after a crocodile attacked and dragged him into the Ghaghra River in Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich district, leaving his family devastated.

The incident took place on Tuesday when the boy had accompanied his uncle, Udayraj Singh, to work in their agricultural field near the river. While at the site, the child went to the riverbank when a crocodile suddenly emerged and attacked him, dragging him into the water within moments.

Despite desperate attempts by his uncle to save him, the crocodile disappeared into the river with the boy. A search operation was launched immediately, and the child’s body was recovered several hours later.

The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, with residents urging authorities to strengthen safety measures along the Ghaghra River. People living near the river have also been advised to stay away from the riverbanks, particularly in areas where crocodile sightings are common.
