Disaster response training for NYKS youth of West Bengal started at NDRF KOLKATA

Disaster response training was formally inaugurated by Sh V. N. Parashar, at 2 Battalion HQ NDRF. In this Course total 39 Participants of Neharu Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) are participating. In this course 06 Girls and 33 Boys are participating from different Districts of West Bengal. This course will terminate on 3 December 2022.

This is the first batch of disaster training for volunteer of NYKS Youth of West Bengal after the Global Pandemic Covid-19. 2nd Battalion NDRF will provide Training to 780 Volunteers of West Bengal & Sikkim State in 15 different batches till March 2023.

The duration of course is one week, the participants will be trained in subject of Disaster Management that are Medical First Responder, Basic Search & Rescue Work, Basic Life Support, Flood Water Rescue, Fire Emergency, Cyber Awareness, Road Safety, Victim Safety Rules & Disaster Response etc. The Training for Youths are divided in two parts one is classroom training and second is practical training.

On the occasion of formal inauguration of the course, Course Director Sh V N Parashar, 2IC said that this training will be beneficial for Youth of the community to tackle the disasters. After attending this course participant will be able to respond and manage the situation during disaster like situation. He also said that these youth are actually ‘the first responder of community”.
