ISPL 2022: Bodoland Team Beat Garo Hills

Bodoland Territorial Region team defeated Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) 5-2 goals in the league match of the first-ever inter-sixth schedule premier league (ISPL)-2022 being played today held at Kokrajhar district sports association (KDSA) stadium playground in Kokrajhar.

For the Bodoland team, Mithinga Daimary netted the first goal against the Garo Hills in the 7th minute of the first half. Again Jwngbla Brahma scored two goals in the 13th & 26th minutes and Maneswar Mushahary also scored two goals in 14th & 36th minutes against the Garo Hills which earned 5 goals.

For Garo Hills, Pusaka Sangma and Saldis G Momin scored one each goal against the Bodoland team in the 8th and 33rd minutes that earned two goals and yet lost to the Bodoland team 2-5.

 

The mega event was started on 9th October at Dimakuchi mini stadium in Udalguri district and the closing ceremony will take place on 23rd October scheduled to be held at SAI SAG Centre Titaguri in Kokrajhar.

The ISPL-2022 has been organised by Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) government for building better networking, and mutual understanding and to provide a platform to the youths in the field of sports across the northeastern region of India.

Notably, the league matches of the ISPL-2022 are also held at Dimakuchi mini stadium, Udalguri, District Sports complex Bathoupuri, Mushalpur and BDSA complex, Bijni.

A total of eight teams representing different sixth schedule councils, including Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous Council, Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (Meghalaya), Lai Autonomous District Council (Mizoram), Mara Autonomous District Council(Mizoram), Chakma Autonomous District Council (Mizoram), Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (Assam), Dima Hasao Autonomous Council (Assam) and Bodoland Territorial Region (Assam) are participating the mega event.

On Wednesday, Bodoland Territorial Region chief executive member Pramod Boro has attended as chief guest in the ceremonial league match of the event.

He has extended his best wishes and congratulations to all participating teams including the Bodoland team and Garo Hills.

He said that the BTR government has been stepping to make healthy upliftment and development of the sports environment across the region.

The championship team would be awarded a trophy and cash of Rs 3 lakh, runners up team trophy and cash of Rs 2 lakh and the third place holder team would be awarded a trophy and cash of Rs 1 lakh respectively.
