The Meghalaya Government today lifted restrictions on visitors to the State, notifying that they can stay for a period of three days.

According to the notification, any person who wishes to enter the State with a planned duration of stay of three days or less, will have to first register for COVID ID on www.meghalayaonline.gov.in/covid/testing.htm.

The visitor(s) must also have to furnish a valid return air or rail ticket. “Those intending to travel by road shall mention the vehicle number that they shall return in,” the notification added.

The visitors can also get their COVID-19 negative RT-PCR report from a recognised laboratory. However, the report should not be more than 72 hours old from the time of arrival. Having such a report will exempt them from the rapid antigen testing carried out at the entry points.

Moreover, the visitors will have to get prior accommodation bookings at designated hotels and guest houses, government or government agencies-run guest houses. During their stay, the tourists have to keep a note of all the places they visit during their stay, restrict their movements and meet as few people as possible following all health advisories.

The visitors have to download the Aarogya Setu app and display it at the entry points. “They have to arrange for their own transportation with the same vehicle for their movements during their duration of stay,” the notification added.
