Assam boy Hansraj Saikia won the first position at the MRF MoGrip FMSCI National Rally Championship under the 400cc category. The event took place at Mangaluru on May 21st and 22nd. Hansraj participated with a customized KTM Duke 390 motorcycle.
Speaking to Guwahati Times, Saikia said, “I am leading the Championship point right now. I feel proud to get a podium. I learned the discipline of this sport, and also learned new things about the sport. I tried to connect with my motorcycle to give the best in me.”
“I will train harder in the future and I have a dream to win more national championships. Lastly, I want to help new riders from our region who are interested in this sport,” Saikia added.
When asked about the biking scenario in Assam, Saikia said, “The biking scenario has improved a lot not only in Assam but throughout the country. Now people are aware of motorsports and riders, People now use Helmets and Shoes because they have understood about the safety.
It is also the same in motorsports, all the riders or racers use proper safety gear while riding. Also, I urge all to use safety gear while riding a two-wheeler as it is for their own safety.”
Notably, Hansraj has represented Assam in a number of national motorsports events including Red Bull ACE of dirt 2021, and the FMSCI Indian National Rally Sprint Championship. Saikia is also a Motocross and Supercross racer.
