Nurses’ strike disrupts services-(AMCH)

The indefinite strike launched by the All Assam Nurses’ Association today in protest against the State government’s failure to fulfil their demands, practically paralysed medical services at the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) and other government hospitals in the district.

Nearly 150 nurses today staged a demonstration near the main gate of the AMCH here as part of the state-wide protest. The nurses’ body has been demanding restructuring of the pay scale of the staff nurses as mentioned in the 7th Pay Commission, retention of the designation of Staff Nurse, publication of Service Rule of the Staff Nurse and implementation of ‘same post same salary among others.
