PM Modi Conferred Indonesia’s Top Civilian Award ‘Bintang Adipurna’
GUWAHATI, July 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi received Indonesia’s highest civilian honour, the ‘Bintang Adipurna’, from Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Tuesday. The award was conferred in recognition of his efforts to strengthen the bond between India and Indonesia.
After receiving the honour, PM Modi said the award belongs not just to him but to all 1.4 billion people of India. He added that it reflects the historic and enduring ties between the two nations.

The ‘Bintang Republik Indonesia’ was instituted in 1959. It is awarded to civilians and military personnel for exceptional service to the nation.
The ‘Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipurna’ is the highest class of this award. It is conferred upon individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Indonesia’s unity, integrity, and prosperity. It is regarded as Indonesia’s highest civilian and military distinction.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi was accorded a ceremonial welcome in Jakarta. He also held talks with President Prabowo Subianto.
PM Modi arrived in Indonesia on Monday as part of his three-nation tour. The visit aims to strengthen India’s Act East Policy and the MAHASAGAR Vision, while supporting a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the visit marks an important step in taking the India-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership forward.
