Section 144 imposed in Shillong; shops and markets to be closed following section 144

On Thursday, an order was issued by EKH Deputy Commissioner, Isawanda Laloo. The order stated that Section 144 of CrPX would be imposed on Sundays.

The order was imposed following an inspection where it was found that the protocols for COVID-19 weren’t followed in public places.

As of the latest updated figures, Meghalaya has 457 active cases currently. Out of this, 360 were reported from East Khasi Hills.
