Sindhu becomes first Indian to win badminton World Championship

Indian shuttle whizz- kid, P V Sindhu on Sunday won World Championship gold by beating Nozomi Okhura of Japan.

In the stumping match at Glassgow, Sindhu quelled the 2 time consecutive World champion, Okuhara by 21-7, 21-7 to win the gold and became the first Indian to ever win a badminton world championship.

With this gold, it was for the fifth time Sindhu’s clenched a medal in the World Championship since 2013. Sports desk, Guwahati Times
