ASSAM’S PANSY BRAHMA WINS BEST ACTRESS AWARD AT BIG SOUND INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2020

Guwahati:  In yet another milestone, Assam girl Pansy Brahma has brought laurels to the state by shining bright in the international cinema platform.

Popular Bodo actress Pansy Brahma has won the Best Actress award at the Big Sound International Film Festival 2020 in Canada. Pansy won the best actress title for a short film named‘Dusk’. The film is directed by Abhishek Basu Roy and written by Ujjwal Paul.

Pansy plays the character of a Nepali prostitute residing in the red light area of Kolkata. The trailer for this movie has just been officially released. Prior to the release of the trailer the actress won the Best Actress award for the film in Canada and outshined in the movie industry.

Big Sound International Film FestivalHosted at The Stockey Centre in Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada, is an annual three-day event that intertwines the spell-binding nature of Georgian Bay with the sophisticated talent of international filmmakers, to create an unforgettable cinematic experience, and a serious festival for films and filmmakers to advance, and be recognized.

Meanwhile, the short film has also been selected for screening at the Calcutta Film Festival. Pansy Brahma, a resident of Baganchali in Kokrajhar district, had earlier acted in the nationally acclaimed full-length Bodo film ‘Jeloi-Dia-Sit’.
