Dagar Tudu wins ‘Best Actress’ award at 12th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival

Santali actress Dagar Tudu won the Best Actress award for her outstanding performance in the film ‘Asha’ at the 12th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival-2022 in Delhi.

Dagar played the role of a specially-abled young woman in the lead role of the film. The film is directed by Pallab Roy & produced by Krishna Kalyani.

It may be mentioned that Dagar Tudu’s real name is Dagarmani Tudu. She is an Indian Santali language singer, songwriter, and Youtuber. She started acting when she was 12 years old, and has appeared in many music videos and films.
Besides Santali music, she has been working with Bengali and Hindi music as well. She works in western music, Indian classical music, and Santali traditional music. The famous music director and composers like R.D Burman, A.R. Rahaman, and Yani inspired him a lot. Dagar Tudu likes to listen to the songs of the legends i.e. Kana Kanuram(Radio Artist), Binanda Soren Md.Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeskar and Rabindra Nath Tagor.
From her childhood, she has had an intense attraction toward music. Her talent in music dazzles through an Indian musical instrument called ‘Harmonium’, when she was only a five-year-old girl.
