In a deeply disturbing incident, a young girl in an unconscious state was discovered with her hands, feet, mouth, and eyes bound in Nayachara, situated under the jurisdiction of Salakati police station in the Kokrajhar district of Assam’s Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Local villagers found the girl in the early morning hours and promptly rescued her, subsequently alerting the authorities.
Authorities suspect that the minor girl may have been subjected to a horrifying ordeal, potentially involving a gang rape perpetrated by five young individuals. In a significant development, the police have taken the main accused, Saminur Ali, into custody later in the day.
Currently, the young victim is receiving medical treatment at the Rupnath Brahma Hospital in Kokrajhar.
