27 Bangladeshi Nationals Detained in Guwahati and Bongaigaon
Guwahati: Assam Police detained 27 Bangladeshi nationals, including 11 women, during separate operations in Guwahati and Bongaigaon.
According to police, 12 people were apprehended at the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) campus in Paltan Bazar, Guwahati. Following interrogation, police received information about another group travelling by train.
The second group, comprising 15 people, was subsequently intercepted at New Bongaigaon Railway Station with assistance from railway authorities.
Police said preliminary questioning indicated that the individuals had allegedly entered India through the Dawki sector of Meghalaya before travelling into Assam. The detainees reportedly came from several districts of Bangladesh.
Legal proceedings have been initiated, with authorities stating that further action will be taken according to law.
