Guwahati: Assam’s COVID-19 death toll increased to 1,010 with three more fatalities on Thursday, while 106 new positive cases took the tally to 2,15,148, Health and Family Welfare Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
Altogether 124 patients recovered from coronavirus and were released from various hospitals, pushing the number of cured people to 2,10,612.
The state now has 3,523 active cases, the minister said adding that three patients had migrated out.

“Sad to share the demise of three #COVID patients today……Condolences and prayers”, Sarma tweeted. The three deaths were reported from Udalguri, Bongaigaon and Kamrup Metropolitan districts. Of the new positive cases detected during the day, 24 were registered in Kamrup Metropolitan district.
Altogether 23,600 samples were tested for COVID-19 during the day, taking the total number of such tests to 57,18,817, including Rapid Antigen and RT-PCR tests. PTI
