Various parties in Barpeta have demanded that the main accused be hanged after investigating the incident.

One of the locals from Jasmin’s native place said, “The man reportedly is a friend of her brother. He was helping her with the admission, too. On Wednesday, the victim went to the accuser’s residence and later was found in a pool of blood by locals.”

The local also added, “If Jasmin was raped and then murdered we want all the accused to be punished rigorously and want capital punishment for all of them”.
