Fake Clinic Busted: Khatowal Police Detain Accused in Penai Bazar

GUWAHATI, July 11: Khatowal Police arrested a man for allegedly posing as a doctor in the Samaguri area. The action was taken as part of a drive against unqualified medical practitioners, following directions from the Assam Chief Minister to act strictly against fake doctors.

The accused has been identified as Nazrul Islam. He was picked up from Penai Bazar, where he was reportedly running a clinic under the name M/S Primary Health Care.

According to police, Nazrul Islam had been treating patients for quite some time despite not having the required medical qualifications.

During the raid, police seized several medical instruments, medicines, and other items from the clinic.

He has now been taken into custody. Khatowal Police said the investigation is ongoing to find out how widespread the illegal practice was and whether anyone else was involved.
