Mizoram, Tripura begin first formal talks to resolve boundary dispute

AGARTALA: Mizoram and Tripura have begun their first formal round of discussions aimed at resolving their long-standing inter-state boundary dispute.

Officials from both state governments met in Agartala to discuss the boundary issue and explore ways to reach an amicable settlement through dialogue and mutual cooperation.

Mizoram Home Minister K Sapdanga confirmed the meeting and said the talks are aimed at finding a mutually acceptable solution to the dispute.

The development marks a significant step as the two neighbouring northeastern states seek to address the boundary question through negotiations rather than allowing differences to escalate on the ground.

The talks are expected to continue as officials from both sides work towards identifying areas of disagreement and possible mechanisms for resolving them.
