Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday launched the Amrit Sarovar project in Assam, during his visit to Karbi Anglong.
A total of 75 water bodies will be created in each district to mark the 75th year of India’s Independence. Under this project, 75+ water bodies of one-hectare area each in every district for water conservation and livelihood generation.
Later today, 6 cancer centers will be inaugurated by the PM at Barpeta, Tezpur, Jorhat, Darrang, Kokrajhar and Lakhimpur.
And foundation stone of 7 cancer centers will be launched at Goalpara, Dhubri, Nagaon, Golaghat, Sivasagar, Tinsukia and Nalbari.
