Assam: Nearly 2,60,000 people reeling under fury of floods in 16 districts

In Assam, nearly 2 lakh 60 thousand people are reeling under the fury of floods in 16 districts. However, no death has been reported in flood-related incidents during the last 24 hours. Official sources said that 50 people were shifted to safer places in the Dhemaji district. Over 6 thousand people have taken shelter at relief camps at various places. District administrations are distributing essential food items at multiple places. Floodwater has also damaged large crop areas.
